Car Parking Charges for Portland?...

A sign has been posted at the Climbers and Walkers Car Park in Weston (Grangecroft Road, above Blacknor) stating that a Pay and Display scheme is to be introduced there. the Climbers and Walkers Car Park was created to give visiting climbers somewhere to park to stop them climbing outside peoples houses on the estate in Weston. Making the car park pay and display will mean climbers and walkers will look for alternative places to park, resulting in conflict and bad feeling with local residents. It goes without saying that this is a bad situation for climbers and residents of the estate alike. There will be a public hearing regarding this matter on 14th Jan, and it is imperative that we, as climbers, make our voices heard, so please make you opinions(politely!) at this address:
